SCIENTIST. FOUNDER. INVENTOR.
I’m Lloyd Watts. I study how nature works,
and turn what I learn into new
possibilities.
How does the brain make sense of sound? Can a machine explain its thinking? What happens when two atoms exchange energy?
Different questions. One instinct:
look closer, connect the dots,
and build
something that matters.

SCIENTIFIC ROOTS. REAL-WORLD BRANCHES.
Research is where it begins.
Making it useful is where
it gets interesting.

NEVER QUITE FINISHED. ALWAYS CURIOUS.
Neuroscience. Artificial intelligence. Physics.

03 / THE HUMAN PART
LLOYD WATTS, PH.D.
I’ve always been drawn to the place
where understanding becomes possibility.
My work began with engineering physics, then took me to Caltech to study with Carver Mead. Research into the human auditory system became the foundation for Audience. Today, that same curiosity continues at Neocortix and in my scientific research.
But a life is more than its work. I paint, make music, take photographs, and follow ideas just to see where they lead.
